I came upon yoga in a round about way through my first passion - Theatre. As an actor movement became a very important part of my life. During my training at The School of Physical Theatre I discovered the connection between breath and movement. I remember the exact moment while in a forward fold that I discovered the more I relaxed with my exhale, the deeper I came into the fold. It seemed magical! A perfect union. A few years later, while attending my first formal yoga class, I discovered a piece that I had been missing in my physical practice -- a spiritual mind-body connection. The combination of breath, movement and a quieting of my mind became a complete package for me. Then and there I fell in love with yoga and knew that it had to be a part of my life.
In 2005 I graduated from Yoga Teacher Training and Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training at The Yoga Sanctuary taught by Cynthia Funk. Since then I have had the honour of teaching at several studios throughout Toronto. It is such a joy to share my passion for yoga with others. Find your strength and learn to balance it with softness. Listen to your breath and everything else will follow.
